"It's my aim to capture light for creating soul pictures."

Lennart v. Corvey is painting widely objective in a modified manner of romanticism. He says that he is trying to paint "psycho-romantically". He wants to suggest strong emotions in the viewer.

These can be positive emotions like calmness and feelings of security but also bittersweet emotions, as well like yearning and nostalgia, in the darkest value feelings of solitude, chill, and helplessness.

The paintings want to enter deeply into the soul and leave a mark. Tools of psycho-romantic painting are first and foremost the light but also the execution with sharpness and haziness which is a means borrowed from photography scarcely to be found in traditional romantic painting.
